EMERGENCIES – Monique was living peacefully with her husband and three children in the Kasai region. When violence broke out in the village. they fled and hid in the bush for more than three months.
KASAI – Kamiji Territory, situated in Lomami Province, was the scene of clashes between the security forces and Kamuina Nsapu militants. The violence forced entire populations to hide in the brush, far from basic services. During these months, the children were unable to continue their education.

HEALTH – Monique had to attend the burial of her husband, following the cholera epidemic. After the funeral, Monique went home to Mbuji-Mayi without any precaution.
