Child participation means encouraging them to express their views on issues that affect them and to give them the means. In practice tis implies that adults listen to children by paying attention to their many and varied modes of communication. This is to ensure freedom of expression and consider their opinions when making decisions about them. It is taking part in a dialogue and exchange that children learn to constructively influence the world around them .
PARTICIPATION MUST BE AUTHENTIC AND USEFUL
Participation must be desired by children and young people themselves and practiced on bases they define themselves within their own reality and given their own ideals , dreams, hopes and concerns. Above all , to be authentic and effective child participation requires a radical change in ways of thinking and behavior of adults . These should include , not exclude , children and their abilities.
THE WILL OF PARTICIPATION IS INNATE IN ALL HUMAN BEINGS
